Centre for International Security, University of London (United Kingdom)
The Centre for International Security is a research hub of security-orientated scholars based at Royal Holloway, University of London. The Centre is directed by Professor Michelle Bentley, whose research covers all aspects of WMD proliferation and arms control negotiation.
Members are involved in a wide range of relevant research, including the legal aspects of arms control agreements, terrorism, mass casualty/fatality reporting, military learning, and the gendered impact of arms control.
As well as facilitating cutting-edge research on proliferation issues, the centre is committed to external engagement and impact. Members are actively engaged in policy debates, advising public bodies, and working with NGOs. They have also testified and consulted at the UK Parliament, US Government, European Parliament, European Commission, the United Nations, the G7 and the G20, and are frequent speakers in national and international media.
The centre is also committed to award-winning education and hosts the flagship MSc International Security programme at Royal Holloway, as well as supporting a strong PhD community.
