The David Davies Memorial Institute was founded in 1951 and today forms part of the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University. The aims of the institute are to promote a more orderly and just world through international cooperation, law, and organisation. In the nuclear field, the DDMI has hosted projects such as ‘The Challenges of Trust-Building in Nuclear Worlds’ (led by Professor Nicholas J. Wheeler) and ‘The Nonproliferation Complex’ (led by Dr Jan Ruzicka and Professor Campbell Craig). Currently, the DDMI supports the following nuclear-oriented projects: ‘Unipolarity and the Politics of Nuclear Nonproliferation’ (led by Campbell Craig and Jan Ruzicka); ‘Ideas That Stand in the Way of Nuclear Disarmament’ (Jana Wattenberg); and ‘Nuclear Stigmatization’ (led by Jan Ruzicka and Jana Wattenberg).
