Togo becomes the 140th subscribing state to the HCoC

19 April 2019

On 19 April 2019, the Togolese Republic has become the 140th subscribing state to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles. The total number of African states that have subscribed to the HCoC now stands at 39.

The spokesperson for the European External Action Service has welcomed the recent accession of Togo:

This is an important step towards the universalisation and effective implementation of the Code of Conduct. All States that have not yet subscribed to the Code of Conduct are strongly encouraged to follow this example, in particular those with ballistic missile and space launch vehicle capabilities.
