Saint Vincent and the Grenadines becomes the 141st subscribing state to the HCoC

27 January 2020

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has become the 141st subscribing state to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles.

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) now has a majority of States subscribing to the HCoC, as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines joins Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Guyana, Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Surinam on January 27, 2020.

The spokesperson for the European External Action Service has welcomed the recent accession of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines:

This is an important step towards the universalisation and effective implementation of the Code of Conduct. All States that have not yet subscribed to the Code of Conduct should follow this example, in particular those possessing ballistic missile capabilities and space launch vehicles.

The FRS held a seminar for Caribbean countries in November 2018, in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
